This fun, informative and unique 75-minute workshop will explore 5 yoga asanas (poses) through the lens of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is an ancient approach to health and wellness and a sister science to yoga, with roots in India that have become globally recognised but now practiced around the world. Ayurveda has a natural affinity with yoga as they both bring balance to the mind and body., another ancient practice.
If you are curious about either or both of these practices, then this workshop is for you. While this is open to everyone, if you already have some knowledge of yoga it will be greatly enhanced.
The workshop will begin with pranayama (breathwork) followed by a gentle warm up before moving into several shapes separately. A short flow will follow to apply just learnt knowledge) before savasana and finishing with some Q&A's.
While yoga teacher Flip will guide us through the class, Dhanya Naimbur, an Ayurveda practitioner, will explain how each of the three doshas (qualities or traits) are present in ourselves and our yoga practice, and how they can be used to deepen the practice and its benefits.
Be prepared for some ‘a-ha’ moments. This workshop is designed to help you understand both the poses and yourself in each of these shapes!
